After his dad’s death, Brady wanted to ride the Harley to honour his father. But at 18 years old, he was considered too young. The painful decision was made to sell it to pay for the funeral.“For the past 12 years, I’ve said I would love to buy it back and return it to the family. But then I had a family and two kids. Things got busy.”
Brady’s sister, Ashlee, and his wife, Alisha, started with a family friend, who offloaded the bike to someone else on their behalf 12 years ago.“We’ve joked about it for the last five years, I reckon,” said Ashlee. “It got to the middle of last year, my dad passed away in August and his anniversary had just passed.”
Even so, Ashlee asked for the number plate details and when she checked them with VicRoads, it said the bike was currently registered. It hadn’t gone to the wreckers.However, the owner wasn’t returning her calls. So Ashlee found their daughter on Facebook and sent her a message with her request. Eventually, she got a call that the bike had been sold to someone else.After calling the number, she found the bike had been sold yet again, this time to the Peter Stevens dealership in Geelong.
