Shadow Veteran Affairs Minister Barnaby Joyce says Labor’s plan for the Upper Hunter is to “kick them to the curb” as unemployment will rise during their transition away from coal in the region.

The Australian Ballet is set to premiere its production of Romeo and Juliet at the Sydney Opera House tomorrow evening, after COVID-19 restrictions massively impacted the arts and live theatre industry.

The Australian Ballet’s Artistic Director David Hallberg says ticket sales for the upcoming production have been their best since the start of the COVID-19 pandemic. “Honestly, the full houses are most exciting because we weathered such a storm through COVID and sometimes we were looking out to half-filled houses,” Mr Hallberg told Sky News host Chris Kenny.

“Romeo and Juliet is the best ticket sales that we’ve had since COVID, and it shows that audiences are ready to come back into the theatre and enjoy this gorgeous work.”
