Sky News contributor Cory Bernardi says Australia’s minimum wage system “effectively prices some people out of the job market” as he calls for effective industrial relations reform post-coronavirus.

Mr Bernardi said one good aspect out of the “coronamania” is business and government are now talking “publicly about substantive economic reform”.

“Let's hope that tax reform is government speak for lower taxes and deregulation means unwinding red, green, blue, brown and yellow tape that is strangling productivity”. The one area of reform which “desperately needs to be addressed” according to Mr Bernardi, is industrial relations. “The age-old divide between capital and labour is behind us; we need voluntary co-operation for both to prosper”.

WHO ..

Sky News contributor Cory Bernardi says Australia’s minimum wage system doesn't stop him selling his rubbish ideas at less than 1¢ a word.

In Victorian England people used to pay to see lunatics at their local asylum. It was good business back then. Your attempt to personalise the experience should be commended.

Catherine is right...the way out of this mess will be more mining and the infrastructure that comes with it I would add dam building as well to fix our water issues And yes, the far left and greens will go into a raging meltdown...but they're only 20% of our population

If the Coalition wants to throw away Government on WorkChoices 2.0, go ahead.

Cory Bernardi contributing to skynewsaust? Well I never would have thought that possible.

Watch it Cory. Lets see you live on the minimum wage. Then try living on less. Hands off.

Virus app necessary to protect Australia: Dutton | Sky News AustraliaHome Affairs Minister Peter Dutton says the government’s controversial coronavirus app is necessary to get Australia back on track. \n\nThe app, which uses Bluetooth data to record digital “handshakes” with nearby phones, would be used by health officials to assist in the contract tracing of those who have come into contact with confirmed coronavirus cases. \n\nMr Dutton, who recently recovered from the disease himself, dismissed privacy concerns and said the app would help Australia avoid becoming the next Italy. \n\n“There are absolute protections that are guaranteed around the privacy,” he told Sky News. \n\n“All of us have numerous apps on our phones which collect more data than we have here.\n\n“If we’ve got somebody who’s identified positive and look at their contacts over the course of the last 24 hours or seven days, contact those people, get them tested, we won’t have the spread we have seen in Italy.' Kieran_Gilbert Kieran_Gilbert Shame the govt is completely untrustworthy. Maybe if there was any level of accountability on issues like sportsrorts, agnusgate or the myriad other scandals or they hadn't sort to erode our rights & privacy at every turn, or they'd implemented the FederalICAC they promised. Kieran_Gilbert Bull shit lockup the old and infirmed use meals on wheels to feed them where needed and let US get back to work
