Tesla will report its latest quarterly results after the closing bell on Wednesday and for Wedbush Securities analyst Dan Ives, it will be “a moment of truth” for Elon Musk.
Shares in Telsa were 0.4 per cent lower to $US143.25 at 2.04pm in New York. The stock has rallied more than 30 per cent since early this month after having shed more than two-thirds of their value from April.Ives said Musk needs to address three key concerns for investors: Tesla’s margins in light of price cuts this month in particular; demand; and, Musk himself.
DivesTech Tesla and Musk have already indicated the top line is light, and his price cuts won’t help the bottom line. And like every other CEO at earnings call, conditions appear to be worsening. Not sure how Musk could create or be believed if numbers aren’t cut.
