There is no ‘silver bullet’ for Australia’s future of power generation | Sky News AustraliaAny discussion regarding Australia’s future emissions strategy and provision of reliable energy must include nuclear in the debate according to Sky News host Peter Gleeson. \n\nMr Gleeson said the only conclusion which can be drawn from the latest findings to come from the nation’s largest miners and resource companies is that now “it’s time to go nuclear”. \n\nHe said the key to Australia’s power generation is the mix of renewables, gas, coal fired power, battery and now nuclear. \n\n“There is no one single silver bullet”. \n\n“The Paris Agreement targets are being met by Australia and our national narrative around energy provision remains one of the country’s most important debates”. \n\nIt’s not a binary argument. It’s not renewables versus coal fired power”. \n\n“It’s both and throw nuclear and gas in there as well”. \n\nImage: Getty Nuclear power is a real solution. There are also various other solutions. The real issues is people fear the lefts false 'green religion' and so any real progress is always held back by a fear of 'offending' a few nutcases. Mmm. We all know government only contract the most qualified people, and not whoever pays the biggest bribe. Nuclear power plants made without a proper tender process? What could go wrong?

Australia’s population growth is a ‘Ponzi scheme’: Dick Smith | Sky News AustraliaEntreprenuer Dick Smith has called for a population and migration cap as Australia will not be able to sustain perpetual growth.\n\nHe said there needs to be a plan around Australia’s migration levels, and the current COVID-19 crisis is the best time to create one given there has been an obvious drop in migration.\n\n“If we reduce emigration to 75,000 a year instead of the record 200,000, we’d end upon with about 30 million Australians, I think that’s okay”.\n\nMr Smith told Sky News, Australia’s current migration system is a “type of Ponzi scheme” because the economy seems to require endless growth in the use of resources and energy, and more population growth.\n\n“That’s ridiculous, surely it must be able to live in balance”.\n\nImage: News Corp Australia agreed need to stop accepting refugees too He should be pm’s advisor The shark agrees, but immigration is but a minor bit player. Albanese 'under pressure' if Labor loses Eden-Monaro | Sky News AustraliaAnthony Albanese’s leadership could be under threat if Labor fails to win the upcoming by-election in the ultra marginal seat of Eden-Monaro, according to Sky News Political Editor Andrew Clennell.\n\nMr Albanese was questioned at a press conference on Tuesday if he is concerned of someone within Labor going for the leadership, should they lose the by-election on July 4.\n\nThe seat of Eden-Monaro was left vacant after Labor MP Mike Kelly retired, citing long-standing health issues.\n\nLabor holds the seat by a wafer thin margin of 0.9 per cent, and internal polling indicates the Liberal candidate is ahead on the primary vote.\n\nMr Clennell said Mr Albanese may be safe for the time being, but only because there is no clear alternative.\n\n“One of the reasons the replacement of Albanese seems so unlikely at the moment is that no one can coalesce on an alternative candidate,” Mr Clennell said.\n\n“The most likely, despite his inexperience, is Shadow Treasurer Jim Chalmers but the prospect of him being elevated is said to irritate the likes of Chris Bowen and Tony Burke who have their own ambitions.\n\n“Tanya Plibersek, one of the most well known in caucus, who is popular with the public but would not be able to get enough votes in caucus.\n\n“So most spoken about is Chalmers and Richard Marles and maybe Joel Fitzgibbon would even run.\n\n“When it comes to the Labor leadership, the argument around which candidate if Albanese falls under this Eden-Monaro bus becomes so circular that you come back to the fact that he is the best option.”\n\nImage: News Corp Australia \n AlboMP aclennell Will Mark Dreyfus go for the leadership, given he hasn’t been appointed as a judge by Chairman Dan Andrews?
