The racing community is praying for teenage jockey Hannah Fitzgerald, who is in hospital after a horror fall on the weekend.

Hannah Fitzgerald had crossed the line atop Neurologic in race six of the meeting in Western Australia when she fell off her saddle and hit the ground. She was rushed to Kalgoorlie Hospital and then flown to Royal Perth Hospital, where she was placed in an induced coma.reports the apprentice jockey was knocked unconscious by the tumble and suffered bleeding on the brain, but is in a stable condition in hospital.

On Facebook, Racing and Wagering WA posted: “Our thoughts are with Hannah and her family during this difficult time. Hannah’s parents are with her and we will continue to provide support any way we can. The WA Jockeys Association said: “Sending all our support and love to apprentice Hannah Fitzgerald after a nasty fall at Kalgoorlie today. Hannah has been flown to Perth for treatment.
