The teenager had been racing at the Mick Doohan Raceway in Banyo when he collided with a fence about 1:45pm on Monday.The Queensland Dirt Bike Racing Championship was being held at the venue, which was moved from Sunday due to wet weather."We've had the Queensland Dirt Bike Racing Championships here today and one of the riders has had an accident during that race and he's come off and unfortunately died," he said.
"There were some spectators here at the event — if they have some vision of what transpired, [can] they contact Police Link at 131 444 and volunteer that vision to us because that is going to assist the investigation to find out exactly how this happened," Mr Shevlin said."There's one family here tonight who are dealing with some terrible loss," he said.
"Our main priority is trying to reach out to the public to get some vision and really just being here for that poor family of this young boy who are having a terrible time and dealing with the loss.
