A rag-tag team of engineers, commercial divers and rev-heads have driven 7km under water across the Darwin Harbour, in a stunt they claim has broken two world records.

The team of 30 divers say they have now set the world record for the longest and deepest underwater drive at a depth of 30 meters.Car enthusiasts from across Australia have spent months fitting out the second-hand LandCruiser, transforming it from unroadworthy to seaworthy with a new, waterproof electric engine and 150 kilogram water-filled tyres.when they attempted to cross the harbour in a LandCruiser.It took nearly 12 hours for a team of 30 to drive 7km under water.

Shortly before the 12-hour journey began, a team of specialist four-wheel drive technicians was flown in from interstate to perform a last-minute fix on the car's shackles.
