Tasmanian MP Sue Hickey has been sacked — but she won't go without a fight

Ms Hickey and Senator Abetz are old political foes.

In 2016, reflecting on Ms Hickey's failed bid for senate pre-selection four years prior, Senator Abetz mused that sometimes those who missed out in such contests needed to stop blaming others and instead look in the mirror."I have never really been a great supporter of Senator Abetz," she said.Eric Abetz has categorically denied making the comments about Brittany Higgins.

While there's no love lost between Mr Gutwein and Ms Hickey, Mr Gutwein is not friends with Senator Abetz either — and the latter could be in the fight for his political life. Whoever sits in the number one spot is all but assured a return to the senate. The third? A much tougher fight.

All the men in government coming together to protect the lies of another. Hope he is proven guilty.

Getting sacked from the LNP should be a badge of honour considering the heinous acts you can get away with.

Just allege, make harassment claims, proven way to win.

Such a shame these women can only speak out after they leave. They know the aftermath if they speak out while in their job
