Following the incident, Taiwan will deploy anti-drone systems on the islands starting next year, the territory's defence ministry said in a separate statement.China's communist government has long claimed the island of Taiwan and has pledged to reunite its 25 million citizens with the mainland. The Taiwanese military said the footage was another example of China's "cognitive warfare" and an attempt to "denigrate" its armed forces.China has not officially commented on the video, which recorded millions of views on Chinese social media where users made fun of it.Meanwhile, the Taiwan government has flagged spending US$19 billion on defence next year, a double-digit increase on 2022.
