Members of Australia’s Japanese community say they have been touched by the support shown to Shinzo Abe after major landmarks across the country were lit up to honour Japan’s longest-serving prime minister.

As the Japanese community of Australia slowly comes to terms with the loss of Mr Abe, many have expressed their gratitude for the support they have received from the Australian community. " and other leaders also spoke of the close friendship between Australia and Japan.

Masahiko Kiya, Consul-General of Japan in Sydney, who was present at the Sydney Opera House on Sunday night, said he was"deeply moved" by the gesture. On Saturday night, a day after Mr Abe's passing, major landmarks of Melbourne were also lit up in red and white.Major landmarks in the city will be red and white to remember the life of Japan’s longest serving Prime Minister.Toshihiko Ijuin, a Melbourne-based photographer, told SBS Japanese, "I have seen Flinders Station thousands and thousands of times, but the sight of it lit up in red and white was the most beautiful I have ever seen it.

Amid all this dark humour and feeling,I personally respect their cleanliness,politeness,their sense of dedication,I like the Japanese who are now our allies and must be treated with respect,generations change and evolved and the Chinese don't like them......
