Stockbroker John Bowie Wilson has listed his slice of Double Bay’s best street for $21m, following the recent $20m listing of a heritage-listed home next door.

have listed their luxury harbourside apartment for $21 million in what is arguably Double Bay’s best street: exclusive harbourside cul-de-sac Gladswood Gardens.paid $5.8 million for the house-sized apartment in 2010. Now, 13 years later, the four-bedroom offering has returned to market for almost four times its last sale price.Selling agent Ray White’s Elliott Placks said the apartment’s scale and location were the drawcards.

“Being on the waterfront and having 300 square metres of living – I’ve sold a few apartments recently and usually around 180 to 240 , so this is house proportioned,” Mr Placks said. The apartment comes with a large outdoor terrace with views over Double Bay marina across to Darling Point, along with a large master bedroom with limestone en suite and dressing room, a Calacatta marble kitchen and a TV room with library and two-car garage. The Yaffas paid $3.63 million to buy into the tightly held complex in 2001.Veteran prestige agent Brad Pillinger, of his eponymous agency, dubs Gladswood Gardens as one of the top two addresses in the coveted suburb.

“Any suburb that has waterfront streets, are the more favoured and expensive streets, and the two in Double Bay would be Gladswood Gardens and Castra Place,” Mr Pillinger said.Gladswood Gardens – which runs down to the harbour alongside swimming hotspot Redleaf Pool on the suburb’s eastern border with Point Piper – is also home to Double Bay’s most expensive property.Ray White’s Elliott Placks said the Lee property would sell for “at least $100 million” if it were on the market today.

Next door to the Lee abode is the Gothic Revival mansion Gladswood House, an 1850s-era sandstone mansion which was converted into seven luxury apartments in the late 1990s.paid $13.
