A popular restaurant frequented by celebrities in Sydney’s eastern suburbs has moved to ban tattoos, heavy jewellery and designer logos, claiming it will prevent “intimidating appearances”. 7NEWS

The venue introduced the new dress code in a bid to discourage any ‘intimidating appearances’UK chef Michael Mcelroy - who has been in Australia since 2016 and works at a venue in Manly - has neck and arm tattoos and told“I’ve never heard of this policy in Australia, I have head and arm tattoos and and not once when dining out has this come up until recently,” Mr Mcelroy said.

Most bars and restaurants in Sydney have rules and regulations about clothing, however, most don’t have any specific rules relating to tattoos or jewellery.

Doubt they'll ACTUALLY bar everybody with a tattoo, oversized jewellery piece or designer label, but a policy like that helps them to keep out rowdies with cash to splash. The type whose enjoyment of dining out is partly based on worsening the experience for other diners.

If your intimidated by tattoos these days you better stay at home. Forever.

So what! Their place, their rules. Eat elsewhere if you don't like it.

That’s not gonna go down well

a small cute tattoo is not that bad,, but some people are. really disgusting, make you vomit, look like a wall of graffiti,

Excellent

The restaurant will also be installing heated Caesar Stone bench tops in each toilet cubicle

Good.

well that has just opened up a can of worms .

What will be next I wonder?

Feedbag?

What a load of crap!

Lol what a stupid cunt. Hope your business goes bust.

Help. Help. I'm being oppressed because 'my body, my choice'. Boo. Hiss. Boycott them. Protest them. Boo. Hiss 🙄
