Sydney Opera House evacuated after suspected gas leak

They were quickly joined by NSW Police who, along with the venue’s staff and a HAZMAT crew, evacuated people in the vicinity after discovering “elevated” levels of gas on the premises.

Attempts to determine the source of the smell have so far been unsuccessful, with a representative from NSW Fire and Rescue saying they will continue to monitor the situation and that it was fortunate no shows were on to be interrupted.
