They were at first charged with murder, but after a judge-only trial both were found guilty of the lesser charge.Justice Peter Hamill told the NSW Supreme Court Hutchison lured her ex-husband to his house with text messages while she was hiding inside armed with a bottle of mould remover.The court heard the ex-husband, who for legal reasons has been given the pseudonym Brett Walker, was then seriously assaulted by the couple.
During her trial, the judge was told Hutchison, who has various mental illnesses, made a voodoo doll of her ex-husband and wrote spells targeting him.In sentencing Wilkinson to eight years' jail with a non-parole period of four years and nine months, Justice Hamill said he had shown genuine remorse.
