Sydney enveloped by dust haze moving east across NSW | jennynoise

Sydney residents have woken to a dusty haze on Thursday morning as a trough moving east across NSW transports dust from the dry centre of the state.

Strong winds on Wednesday lifted dust over inland NSW that were picked up by the trough and carried east, affecting numerous districts, weather bureau meteorologist Gabrielle Woodhouse said.The morning dust reached the city just in time for sunrise, and could be seen on satellite images over a broad chunk of the state, including metropolitan Sydney, the Hunter, North-West and Northern Ranges.

Ms Woodhouse said the haze would continue to move off to the east throughout Thursday and settle somewhat, with some of it affecting the far north east of NSW in the afternoon.In the city, she said "we should start to see it weaken later this morning. By about lunchtime we should have seen most of that dust haze.Sydney hit by dust storm.
