A husband and wife associated with a Sydney formwork subcontractor , and who once owned a $14 million trophy home, are facing allegations they were part of a scheme that scammed creditors and the tax office of millions of dollars. Eastside Formwork liquidators are suing Dane and Connie Stojic for almost $9 million, including more than $6.5 million owed to the Australian Taxation Office, after accusing them of insolvent trading, uncommercial payments and breaching director duties.
Connie Stojic’s five-bedroom, five-bathroom home in Maroubra sold for a record-breaking $14 million in 2021. Eastside joins a string of building subcontractors, most doing formwork in NSW, that have been accused of outbidding competitors by Dane Stojic has been associated for more than a decade with a series of businesses that have collapsed owing PAYG tax.
