Swimming Australia will investigate claims of misogyny after Madeline Groves's public complaint

Swimming Australia will set up an independent panel to investigate issues relating to the experiences of women and girls in the sport.Groves said she withdrew from the Australian Olympic swimming trials due to misogynists and perverts in the sport

Groves posted on Instagram that her decision to withdraw from the trials is mostly "the culmination of years of witnessing and 'benefiting' from a culture that relies on people ignoring bad behaviour to thrive. I need a break.""Obviously with some of the communications, some of the tweets, I think we have to investigate some of those issues," he told reporters on Saturday afternoon.

This person has a dark evil something going on in her head. Some poor male in the swimming culture is gona cop it. She is planning an attack. She sure has got you on your toes. Better make sure all your men are clean or any women it's coming.

Remember that misogyny is defined as the hatred of women. So are they looking for evidence of misogyny, sexism or abuse? The words we use matter, and there is a definitional difference.

Here's an idea: how about we all actually listen to what she has to say, process it and reflect on how, in our own lives, we can make a change for the better. Some of these comments show you are part of the problem

I vote that we get rid of all these 'elite' sports programs and redirect the funding to amateur sports programs especially those that get kids involved. Olympic medals mean bugger all to most people. Problem solved.
