Stockholm authorities said separately that the number of COVID-19 patients in need of care in the region had risen about 60 per cent over the past week after a near 80 per cent surge in recorded infections.Sweden's death rate per capita is several times higher than its Nordic neighbours, but lower than some larger European countries, such as Spain and Britain.

Cases up deaths not, this has been going on for a while. Have they increased their PCR test threshold, or maybe more people getting tested, or weaker variant of virus

Herd Immunity actually means a very large number of people suffering from COVID-19 health effects (Long COVID) & a very large number of deaths. Swedens COVID-19 approach was/is both flawed & arrogant. It was really based on the idea that Swedes are somehow smarter, better.
Aside from Taiwan no country was prepared to protect the elderly and vulnerable when virus hit including Sweden. Let's see how many deaths they have with these new cases, tipping they've learnt and put protections in.
