Swans, Magpies fans warned about scalped tickets sold for up to $500 | AnnaPattySMH

AFL fans are being asked to pay up to $499 for scalped tickets – more than double the original purchase price – for this weekend’s preliminary final between the Sydney Swans and Collingwood Magpies at the Sydney Cricket Ground.

Ticket scalpers are outlawed from selling tickets for more than 110 per cent of the original purchase price of the ticket, which ranges from $65 to $193. Illegally scalped tickets for the Preliminary final game between Collingwood and the Sydney Swans are being sold for up to $500. In 2020, Swiss-based company Viagogo was fined $7 million in a case brought by the ACCC for breaches of anti-ticket scalping legislation.

“The Ticket Merchant is committed to complying with legislation in all jurisdictions, including NSW,” the spokesperson said.
