British tabloid The Sun has revealed the horrendous online abuse some X users have endured simply for supporting Princess Catherine during her absence from the public eye amid her battle with cancer.
“Then they start hounding your place of employment, kids’ schools and spreading terrible rumours about you,” one victim told the outlet.The woman recounted how the Sussex Squad member had contacted her friend’s teenage daughters and threatened them. A third woman estimated 200 accounts were “bullied off” X after “relentless harassment” from the squad, who now boast about the coverage they received over the online feuds. The Sun reported New York businessman Christopher Bouzy, 47, who developed software that uncovered hundred of bots supposedly harassing Meghan and Harry, was the “so-called” squad champion.
When Kensington Palace announced in January the Princess of Wales was undergoing planned abdominal surgery, Bouzy posted a video of a backflipping gymnast and captioned it: “Kate Middleton this weekend”.In a post on X, Bouzy urged people to stop “trying to make Kate the victim of conspiracy theories” while ignoring those against Meghan.
