The Morrison government is strongly supportive and exploring the prospect of bringing cutting-edge vaccine manufacturing onshore to ensure Australia can combat present, and future, pandemics | jamesmassola MsEmmaK

“The government has commissioned an audit of organisations within Australia with mRNA production capability and we are working with the biotech industry to consider ways to establish and sustain large-scale mRNA vaccine manufacturing in Australia,” he said.

“So the fastest way to get vaccines into the arms of Australians is through our Pfizer contract, that is the earliest large delivery of mRNA vaccines,” he said.Australia is one of about 20 countries that can manufacture Adenoviruses vaccines, such as the locally-made AstraZeneca COVID-19 jab, as well as protein-based vaccines.

“Prior to the pandemic there was no evidence that an mRNA vaccine would work very well in a practical sense, outside the lab. The pandemic has proven that mRNA vaccines are a technology that work well once you have the formulation step.” “We continue to have conversations with the Australian government about how we can support Australia’s ongoing vaccination rollout needs, while we meet our commitments to manufacture AstraZeneca COVID-19 vaccines.”

jamesmassola MsEmmaK Shame they cut the CSIRO's budget then...

jamesmassola MsEmmaK There’s 10’s of thousands of Australians separated indefinitely from their partners/spouses/young kids overseas, and who were RELYING on a solid vaccine rollout in order to reunite with their immediate loved ones.. our lives have been on hold a year already 💔 LoveIsNotTourism

jamesmassola MsEmmaK How long before the tax payer funds it and a federal government sells it to a private enterprise?

jamesmassola MsEmmaK Being supportive etc is not good enough.

jamesmassola MsEmmaK Oh he is considering it, “How good is that “ perhaps he is waiting for someone to say it’s ok to do it ..

jamesmassola MsEmmaK When’s that going yo happen, in 2100 when we’ll all be dead

jamesmassola MsEmmaK About 10 years too late dickheads!

jamesmassola MsEmmaK Ya right tell it to the hand.

jamesmassola MsEmmaK SMH missed the word NOW, as in Morrison is NOW supportive ... We’d have been there already if only he had a real plan a year or so ago. When will journalist start reporting as “Morrison says he is/will” rather than “Morrison will”? It’s so basic but so important.

jamesmassola MsEmmaK Scotty.... Attempting Distraction Therapy again? I think the audience lost interest some time ago.

jamesmassola MsEmmaK Old sheepfarmers may recall: 'don’t lose the sheep for a halfpennyworth of tar'. The pennypinching Morrison gov't should've started set up of mRNA manuf facilities last June, as clearly this was the new technology (used by Pfizer etc). But no, let's not spend money, let's wait...

jamesmassola MsEmmaK This should have happened for the top 2 Vaccines at the start.

jamesmassola MsEmmaK If the quality assurance can be approved locally. IMHO it would make sense to manufacture and help with licensing and exports from Australia. JoshFrydenberg ScottMorrisonMP Your costs will need to be considered in order to make it viable.

jamesmassola MsEmmaK Oh wow. If only Australia wasn't in the habit of selling off its assets to mates of government and outsourcing everything. Lessons always learnt the hard way. CSL was privatised in 1994.

jamesmassola MsEmmaK Should have been done 12 months ago for fucks sake

jamesmassola MsEmmaK Why is support only growing for this now

jamesmassola MsEmmaK Pfizer knocked on scomos door and he rejected the offer last year. This announcement is a gross admission that they didn’t secure enough
