Supercars legend misses out on Bathurst 1000 shootout

Retiring Supercars legend Jamie Whincup will not take part in the Bathurst 1000 top-10 shootout on Saturday after a dramatic first qualifying session at Mount Panorama.It is just the fourth time he has finished outside the top-10 in qualifyingHolden young gun Will Brown — who won his maiden Supercars race in Sydney last month — snatched provisional pole after pipping Anton De Pasquale and Chaz Mostert in qualifying.

It is just the fourth time the seven-time Supercars champion has finished outside the top 10 in qualifying for the Bathurst 1000 during his glittering career.
