The new owners of Kalgoorlie-Boulder's Super Pit say operations will continue for at least another 15 years as recruitment of up to 100 new workers begins with production ramping up again.

Super Pit is so big it is visible from spaceThe strategic review released today revealed the mine's annual output is expected to rise to above 675,000 ounces from the 2027-28 financial year, up from 465,000 ounces last financial year.

The Fimiston South expansion, which will be the single largest cutback at the Super Pit in a decade, has also been approved at the southern end with 850 million tonnes of material to be moved over 12 years. "This provides all the stakeholders, suppliers, and workers in Kalgoorlie with a real shot in the arm at a time when we all really need it."
