Former lord mayor Graham Quirk 's review recommends building a new $3.4bn stadium in Victoria Park instead of rebuilding Gabba . The Queensland Sport and Athletics Centre ( QSAC ) in Nathan will be used for athletics. The Gabba will receive some funding for upgrades but will not be fully accessible for those with disabilities.

The review was launched due to public backlash over the expensive Olympics infrastructure pipeline
