Australia suspends all flights from India until May 15 | Sky News AustraliaAustralia will pause all direct passenger flights from India, including repatriation services, until May 15 - impacting around 500 arrivals.\n\nPrime Minister Scott Morrison announced the changes after the National Security Committee of the federal Cabinet met on Tuesday morning.\n\nThe suspension of the commercial flights will directly impact two passenger services into Sydney and two repatriation services into Darwin.\n\nThe prime minister said the move decision will be reviewed before May 15, but announced all passengers on future flights will be required to return negative results to both a PCR test and a rapid antigen test prior to take-off.\n\nAll indirect flights coming from India via Singapore, Doha, Dubai, and Kuala Lumpur have also been paused by their respective governments. \n About bloody time ! Postal union calls for entire Australia Post board to be sacked | Sky News AustraliaCEPU Communications Union National President Shane Murphy says the Australia Post board should be cleared out following the Christine Holgate 'fiasco', and cuts which were made to community services. \n\n“This whole fiasco around the Christine Holgate affair, the way that’s played out, the cuts to the community services, the threats to some 8,000 jobs in the BCG (Boston Consulting Group) report, there’s a range of matters the board’s clearly got a fair amount of explaining to do,” he said. \n\n“We think it’s time for a refresh and an independent body be set up to select the board'. \n\nMr Murphy told Sky News the board should be independent of government after Christine Holgate revealed a lot of board members had Liberal Party allegiances.\n\n “The board should be independent, this is a government owned business owned by the Australian people, one that they rely upon,' he said. \n\n“The board should be independent of government; it should be free to make decisions in the best interest of the community and the company.\n\n“So therefore, we’re asking for the board to be cleaned out and replaced with an independent board simply to perform in the best interests of the community services and the company as a whole”. \n
