New head coach has done away with ‘finishers’ term yet he still needs to square the Marcus Smith and Owen Farrell circle

Photograph: Zac Goodwin/PAPhotograph: Zac Goodwin/PAf this is a new chapter of English rugby – as Maro Itoje told us more than once – then the first page of it was less notable for what it said, more so for what it did not. Steve Borthwick’s first team announcement as England head coach and not a single mention of the World Cup, now just seven months away, was uttered.

Tuilagi’s absence, of course, leaves England light on ball-carrying heft. We are unlikely to see Ellis Genge deployed at full-back – as he effectively was in Paris last March – but he can expect to see plenty of the ball, as can Kyle Sinckler and Ollie Hassell-Collins. More tellingly, however we can expect to see players with a point to prove.

Debate about Voice ‘all heat and no light’ at the momentSky News host Chris Kenny says he is finding the debate about the Indigenous Voice to Parliament to be “all heat and no light” at the moment. “I know plenty of you haven't made up your minds, and many of you oppose it and like to attack me for supporting it,” Mr Kenny said. “But I'll tell you this, I argue in favour of The Voice sure, but I certainly have plenty of opponents on this program, that's what I'm about, let’s have all sides, let's have respectful disagreement, free thinking and open debate.” That could describe many things in the Murdoch world!! Chris Kenny is so very wrong about the voice. Yep, the stuff up courtesy of Albo and Burney.

High profile former Liberal staffer Rachelle Miller returned to the spotlight at the Inquiry shedding light on the inner workings of MP Alan Tudge's office during the scheme's operation. The illegal debt recovery program was first introduced by the coalition as a revenue recovery measure in 2015 but by November the following year its perception began to turn as recipients spoke out against debt notices they received. Adani’s financial credibility to be under scrutiny by global investment communityAccording to Business reporter Ross Greenwood, the investment community in India, the rest of the world, and most likely Australia will investigate Adani's financial credibility in light of these allegations. “But also then the due diligence that was done by the Queensland and the federal governments that approved these mines in the very first place,” he said. “There were always arguments that were generally on environmental grounds, about that mine, but then also it's about the ability and the capability of that company to be able to do it.” Is anybody surprised? Name a major Indian Company that’s not corrupt 😠
