The dynamic small forward has decided to remain at the Cats, knocking back a big offer from St Kilda.

Premiership forward Tyson Stengle has decided to remain at Geelong for the next five years, declining St Kilda’s attempt to lure him as an unrestricted free agent.

It was a remarkable return from the talented goalkicker who Adelaide delisted after a series of off-field incidents. However, with the support of his junior club, Woodville West-Torrens, he was able to demonstrate his commitment to resurrecting his career, and he joined Geelong, where his friend Eddie Betts was an assistant coach.

Two industry sources familiar with the details of the deal said Stengle would remain a Cats player until the end of 2029. He has kicked 31 goals this season and at least one goal in every game since round one, having now kicked 111 goals in 59 matches for Geelong.
