Politicians fanning reports of leadership challenges 'have rocks in their heads' | Sky News AustraliaMinister for Decentralisation and Regional Education Andrew Gee says stories of anonymous politicians challenging Deputy Prime Minister Michael McCormack are great for the “Canberra bubble” but they are “not resonating out in country Australia”. \n\nReports have emerged of senior Nationals MPs and party figures mounting a destabilisation campaign against Mr McCormack following the Queensland election, despite a failed attempt in February. \n\nMr Gee told Sky News voters in his electorate are not interested in leadership “scuttlebutt”.\n\n“They are saying get on with the job, our country is traumatised, our economy is traumatised, people’s lives have been devastated, get on with the job of governing Australia and don’t entertain any nonsense like this whatsoever,” he said. \n\n“That’s the message from country Australia on this and everyone would do very well to heed it because if you don’t you’ll pay at the ballot box down the line.\n\n“These reports seem to bob up every now and again, the thing was settled in February, the public aren’t interested in it, no one’s got an appetite for it and quite frankly if people are trying to egg or whip this story up they’ve got rocks in their heads because the public won’t wear it. \n\n'I think that we would be punished severely for even entertaining this kind of nonsense and the shenanigans of the Canberra bubble.' \n\nImage: News Corp Australia M_McCormackMP does not matter all politicians are the same working for banking and oil and mining sectors and not for the people.

The Republican National Convention will feature 'a lot more talk about China' | Sky News AustraliaSky News reporter Annalise Nielson says the 2020 Republican National Convention will be all about Donald Trump who, at this point, is set to speak every night. \n\nMs Nielson told Sky News host Paul Murray the convention was set to be more a of hybrid model than the democratic convention, with speeches given around the place, including one on the south lawn of the White House. \n\n“Donald Trump is going to, probably have the media focusing in on the fact that there will be events around his rally that have gatherings,” she said. \n\n“That’s probably going to be something that gives the media a bit of oomph.”\n\n'I also think ... there's going to be a lot more talk about China, there's going to be a lot more talk about the violence on the street, and those are two incredibly hot and important topics,' Mr Murray added. You mean lie every night! Trump will make it about all the achievements of the last 3 or so years. And rightly so. In stark contrast the destroy America convention by the dnc was a childishTrump bashing shit show with no policy, platform or substance, catering to the lowest common denominator, HATE. well it must be said without Trump reps would be in crisis.

There is 'no logic' to Australia's avoidance of nuclear power | Sky News AustraliaBroadcaster Michael McLaren says it is simply fear and ideology that is keeping Australia from using nuclear power.\n\nAustralia has 40 per cent of the world’s uranium reserves, and yet it is illegal to operate a nuclear reactor in the country.\n\nThere are 450 nuclear power plants worldwide. \n\n“Even Joe Biden … and his Green New Deal is saying that small, modular, nuclear reactors have to be part of America’s future,” Mr McLaren told Sky News host Alan Jones. \n\n“Even sleepy Joe gets it, and yet out here, as you said, we’ve got the world’s largest uranium mine at Olympic Dam.\n\n“Cory Bernardi knows better than most, South Australia could become one of the wealthiest jurisdictions in the world if they allowed nuclear energy and the safe storage of waste in the middle of nowhere in South Australia.\n\n“And yet for whatever reason - there’s no logic to it, it’s just fear and ideology - we don’t proceed.”\n\nImage: Getty Michael ... Read the fine print......its all about money. I don't care about ideology, the fear factor may bring out the Chernobyl cheer squad. The reality is electricity is already too expensive. Nuclear power will really hike up the price further. Go nuclear or go home. We dont want Nuclear. Use Solar or wave technology and lead the world that way instead of following suit with bad ideas. The Pacific is already full of Nuclear waste from Japan, we should learn lessons.
