St Andrews digs up much-mocked 'DIY patio' by Swilcan Bridge

abc.net.au/news/st-andrews-to-dig-up-much-mocked-diy-patio-by-swilcan-bridge/101943688A new stone feature next to the historic Swilcan Bridge on the Old Course at St Andrews has been dug up after it was criticised as looking like a "DIY patio".St Andrews Links Trust decided to dig it up after a backlashThe circular feature adjacent to the famous old structure next to the first and 18th fairways was authorised by St Andrews Links Trust to mitigate wear and tear.

Turf will be re-laid around the bridge, which was originally built 700 years ago and which is one of the most photographed landmarks in world golf.
