Cricket great Bob Willis has been remembered as a 'hugely admired' figure in the game RIP 🙏

"None of us needed to speak to him. There was no point anyway as his focus, emotion and passion all came together in that moment and he blew the Aussies away," former teammate Geoffrey Boycott said.

Willis' former county Surrey paid tribute on Twitter, saying: "All at Surrey County Cricket Club are devastated to learn of the passing of former Surrey and England bowler Bob Willis.England cricket captain Bob Willis lost the 1982 Ashes but he won the hearts of some boys playing cricket in a Sydney back lane "As a player he had a big heart, he'd run in, nearly 6ft 6ins, and hit the pitch hard.

"In later years as a broadcaster Bob was a perceptive and respected voice at the microphone. We are forever thankful for everything he has done for the game.Bob Willis pictured at the breakfast table on January 08, 1979. On social media the cricket community and broader sporting world mourned the loss of the former England skipper.

He was described as "an England great" who was well known for his good sense of humour as well as his bowling prowess.
