BREAKING: South Australia has had some of the smallest Covid numbers of all states and territories - but the premier has announced it’s time to open up.

The next milestone on South Australia’s roadmap will hopefully come before Christmas, when the state’s 12-plus population hits 90 per cent double dose.

“We will be able to remove the quarantine arrangement for those people coming in from overseas that are double vaccinated, and we will remove the vast majority of the other restrictions in South Australia,” Mr Marshall said.

Mr Marshall also announced $123 million in government funding to get the state “Covid-ready” and support it throughout future outbreaks. “The race is on in South Australia. We need as many people to get vaccinated as quickly as possible, so we can enjoy as normal a Christmas as possible during this pandemic,” he said.“We do need to make sure that we can be Covid-ready, and that's why, in recent weeks, we have announced $123 million worth of initiatives to make sure that we are Covid-ready.

“So we're doing everything we can ... I know this will be a huge relief for so many South Australians who are wanting to get back to a sense of normality quickly as possible.”
