Chief public health officer Nicola Spurrier said about 100 other people work in the immediate area of the airport, and a"significant number" of people would be required to self-quarantine.

Dr Spurrier said it was a"serious situation" and authorities are working with Qantas to mitigate the risks. She has recommended people who have travelled through Adelaide Airport in the past 24 hours to give their bags a wipe-over.Seventy-four cases are from the Ruby Princess cruise ship.SA Health's chief medical officer Nicola Spurrier said three of today's cases were linked to the Ruby Princess ship, bringing the state total from that cruise to 74."Today's ages range from people in their 20s to people in their 80s," Dr Spurrier said.

hughriminton Why haven’t domestic flights been suspended yet?

inevitable handling all that luggage from america ps theirs no guarantee that people are going to become immune, the vaccines they tried on mice for covid gave them antibody's, but also made their immune systems go nuts when exposed to sars1

hughriminton I can’t imagine any of them are travellers returning from oversaes which means the virus is on the luggage.

hughriminton That is seriously bad news... Contact traceability just flew out the window ... unless of course there had been great control measures in place between flights, etc Is it time for Hope and Prayer?

Yet again our invisible premier is n9where to be seen. Never is when there is bad news. He is putting lives at risk by not enforcing 2 person gatherings as are all the other states and territories. Shame on him.

'Incredibly encouraging' result as WA records just nine new cases of COVID-19There have been just nine new coronavirus cases recorded in Western Australia over the past 24 hours. Yes but it’s easy to keep numbers down when you don’t broaden the testing regime... which apparently isn’t happening until Thursday! So another fortnight before we will actually have an idea of what the transmission within the community is doing.. If we don’t do any tests tomorrow we will have beaten the virus! Where's this information coming from? In the 24 hours to 5pm yesterday 30/3 44 cases were reported. Since we haven't reached 5pm yet today 31/3, isn't this a bit premature? ABC you do a great job but it looks like you made a mistake here.
