Within hours of landing in Australia to start a new life, Shabnam Safa encountered her first problem.

Her experiences have helped inform a new resettlement program that looks to harness the same community spirit thatin Queensland, after four years in immigration detention. The program has received $8.9 million in federal government funding and hopes to help 1500 refugees over the next three years. It stems from
