So fresh air is good for seaside residents but not LGAs of concern? Spare me your concern, Mr Hazzard

. Perhaps there’s envy. Not from me. I’ve tried Sydney beach-living. Didn’t like it. Sydney beaches are all bums and BMWs. Don’t get me wrong. A good bum is a fine thing. I just don’t want yours in my face. No offence.But there’s no denying the countless beach images that have swamped social media during lockdown – OMG look at me and the great blue ocean! – are designed as envy-generators.

Sure, they removed the nightly curfew. But there’s nowhere to go, anyway, with everything forced shut. And the lack of any such curfew in the east intensifies perceived partiality.

emfarrelly They just don’t get it do they? One rule for some and another for others. My daughter lives in Wiley Park and I live in Coogee. It makes her so angry that she can’t even walk her dogs without a mask, even when there’s no one around and yet people swarm at the beach, maskless.

emfarrelly One thing we finally realised during this covid is that we are not in this together. Through hardship we finally see that there are two sides of sydney, the haves and the have nots. We’ll all do well to remember this. You’re either one of us under the law, or those above it

emfarrelly Seaside residents must follow covid safe rules to travel to and from the beach. All being equal, why is it any riskier to travel in the same safe manner to/from the beach if you live 10kms away from the beach in a LGA of concern?

emfarrelly This just shows how complacent Sydney people are. They don't realise the even fully vaccinated people ( which most of those on the beach probably aren't) can get this virus.

emfarrelly our weak premier GladysB and our local MLA markcourelive dont care. After all they need to look after their eastern suburb mates. Its a divided city. I really have stopped caring about anyone in this state. No loyalty for a divided class of citizens. We need to become selfish
