The Slovakia n Prime Minister is fighting for his life in a critical condition after he was shot at in an assassination attempt .
The shooting occurred in front of the House of Culture as the leader left a meeting in the town of Handlova, in central Slovakia. Police wrestled a 71-year-old man to the ground and detained him, with dramatic images later showing him sitting wearing handcuffs. The alleged culprit's full motive is not yet clear.
Local news outlet Aktuality.sk reportedly spoke to the son of the alleged perpetrator stating:"I have absolutely no idea what my father intended, what he planned, what happened."
