The Indian woman gave recorded evidence about her alleged ordeal in a trial at the Supreme Court of Victoria on Monday.
The woman, now in her 60s, alleged in the taped interview with federal investigators the wife had beaten her with a frozen chicken. The woman was rushed to hospital in 2015 when she was found in the house in a puddle of urine, weighing just 40kg and was later diagnosed with sepsis and diabetes. During another recorded interview aired on Monday the woman said she was trapped in the home when the family went on overseas trips.
