Broadcaster Kel Richards says the language used by Sir Tom Moore came from World War II as a form of weaponised optimism and determination.

“People from Sir Tom’s generation, they talked about optimism and determination and responsibility, and by talking about it, it made them more optimistic, more determined, more responsible, so when Sir Tom says tomorrow will be a good day he is weaponising optimism,” he told Sky News host

Peta Credlin. Mr Richards said the way the World War II generation spoke was with a “bulldog spirit” coming from the war which helped them face their reality with optimism. “What Sir Tom and his generation did helped them cope with the world and if we talk in the right way we will cope better.”
