“But even those numbers are probably 30 per cent down on where Sydney and Brisbane are, and where Melbourne should be,” he says. In 2016, about 12 per cent of houses and apartments in Carlton were listed as unoccupied. In last year’s census – conducted on August 10, five days into what would become Victoria’s sixth lockdown – that number jumped to almost 30 per cent.

“We are sitting on three developments worth a quarter of a billion dollars that we are not proceeding with at the moment because we are waiting to see how the Victorian government and unis are going to respond to the damage that has been done for the past two and half years to the sector,” Carracher said.

rachael_dexter CraigDButt Our home is somewhere on that map we have lived here on Gold Coast in a unit for last few years simply because we have always felt a bit safer from health point of view re covid , well thats what experts like Sutton have said re climate & less population density up here

rachael_dexter CraigDButt 10% seems to be the average for most places. I m in WA in a town with a similar number of houses to Yarra Valley and our vacancy rate is the same. No holiday or student homes. Many residents wheeled off to nursing homes with no power of attorney established.

rachael_dexter CraigDButt Because wealthy and middle class wealthy people are negatively gearing them to get more money. Something that Shorten was going to stop but the Australian voters were too stupid to understand.
