Tens of thousands take to the streets in a show of strength from the union movement ahead of the federal election.

Labor Party figures took centre stage at the event, with Queensland Premier Annastacia Palaszczuk calling on supporters to vote out the Coalition Government at the May 18 election.

"I need Queenslanders to do one thing on May 18 ... and that's vote them [the Coalition] out," Ms Palaszczuk said. Bagpipes, vintage trucks, a rock band and children on scooters took part in the march through the CBD to the city's RNA Showgrounds at Spring Hill. Marchers chanted slogans urging the defeat of Prime Minister Scott Morrison and the Coalition Government.

Labour Day events also took place at 19 other locations around Queensland, including Bundaberg, Barcaldine, the Gold Coast and Thursday Island.

Let them know the US-China trade war is on the way.

So sad that so many folk are gullible enough into believing the trade union movement dogma. Ever wondered why so many industries and consumer icons have left Australia, usually for Asia? Australians pay themselves far to much and produce far too little.

But everybody knows the unions by law have no party political affiliation so who knows what effect this would have?
