Bill Shorten will criticise Anthony Albanese’s policy agenda with faint praise – and suggest Labor must be bolder.

Bill Shorten has taken a thinly veiled swipe at his successor, Anthony Albanese, for adopting a “tiny” policy agenda in opposition.

But it is Mr Shorten’s message about his 2019 election loss to Scott Morrison and his call to arms for bolder policy development that will raise eyebrows within the ALP caucus.“I have learnt the lessons of defeat and I have learnt, and the party has learnt, the dangers of taking too large or too cluttered a policy agenda to the electorate,” he will say.

Mr Shorten will also say that the book broadly suggests Labor must, as a solution to the challenges it faces, re-engage “with ideas and with Labor values”.“Anthony Albanese is doing a good, solid job in a time of pandemic where the unity of the national moment naturally favours incumbents. The Morrison Coalition may seem to dominate but he - and they - are beatable.”

Shorten is acting like a snake in the grass. If they get rid of Albanesse, they have no chance at the next election.Rembember his arrogance cost labor the unlovable election.

Bill Shorten? Oh, is he the guy who lost two federal elections as leader and knifed two Labor prime ministers? He is giving advice?

Tick tok tick tok.... times up Albo. Little Bill is back

Albanese will beat Scummo at the next election.

Right he did well losing the un-loseable election

And who wouldn't listen to Shorten's advice on how to win elections?

Both “tiny” literally & figuratively.

How did that work for Bill “I’m ready to govern” Shorten last time?

Division is inevitable because there is too much stupid, Albo thinks he can win an election by telling everyone how long the LNP have been doing the job, Labor are a mess and should be avoided, no matter who is running their shit show, btw this is Morrison’s first term auspol

I see you've started the Pentecostals election campaign

Morrison the most incompetent corrupt leader we have had The same man will not condemn any of his dishonest ministers

I agree. Trying to be a do nothing lnp party for all those with heads stuck in sand abd too dumb to change or understand is not the answer. sadauspol

I still can’t believe that they lost the election to a bunch of hypocritical bible thumping elitists. Really!

It worked for Beazley. Oh hang on, no it didn’t.

Labor is running a small target strategy. Nine news attacks the small target strategy.

And a thinly veiled attempt by Fairfax to have a dig at the current Opposition leader when Scomo can’t even organise the CovidVaccine auspol

I understand what Mr. Shorten is saying but Labor has been doing this shit for years, doesn't help your cause one iota. Instead of having the leaders back, you backstab them at the first opportunity, often in spite of public support.

Shorten tried 'bolder' at two elections. May be 3 failures will convince him?

Duh. While SM, the worst PM of this century so far, is being celebrated by main stream media, Labor is struggling to have a platform to reach voters. I don’t know what they stand for or against anymore. auspol2021
