Bill Shorten has responded to a story on the front page of The Daily Telegraph, which accuses him of politicising his mother's life story to make a point about access to education.

The Opposition Leader wrote in a tweet, ‘in a new low, The Daily Telegraph has decided to use my mum’s life as a political attack on me, and on her memory. They think they know more about my mum than I do.’ On Wednesday, Mr Shorten will be announcing a $250 million fund to help reduce waiting list times at hospitals across Australia.

You're right, you know😀

The Daily Telegraph shouldn’t have run the story. There’s nothing there. Scott Morrison cops it as well. We need to stick to issues, not denigrate the two leaders.

Ok newscorp, just hurry up a hire Kathy a lawyer and finish Bill off.

'snaps' lmao in that case your after dark programming is nothing but old white mayonnaise leather saddlebags 'snapping' at imaginary monsters under the bed

Bill Shorten has been that much of a duplicitous reptile in the past and up to the present, I applaud dailytelegraph putting him and anything he says under the microscope just as Fairfax have to LNP and independents. Shorten is no victim, rather a parasite on this country.

Pure projection from a fake news paper.

You don't need to explain it to me bill. Murdoch and his goon squad are at it again.

JackEastman64 Getting touchy is our Bill. If you can't tell the Truth about your mother what else have you lied about . The most untrustworthy pollie I I've had the misfortune to have to listen to in over 50yrs of following politics .

Sky, the Australian, daily telegraph, what do they all have in common? Yes, they’re all pro right wing propaganda owned by fake news purveyor Murdoch

Considering he used half the real story get get a headline he gets what he deserves

BIASED right wing Rupert Murdoch’s media - shame on you and is there no gutter you wont crawl into.

'The greatest shame of this story ... belongs to the journalists who, against all evidence and to the detriment of their profession and their nations’ democracies, continue to participate in the charade that what the Murdochs do is journalism.'

RW attacks dogs trying to poison peoples minds. The Australian The daily telegraph 2gb Lie news Ch 7 and ch 9 All defending the establishment and the “haves” None of them are calling out the disunity like they were in 2013, or even how the economy is tanking now - not a word

‘Politicizing’ seems to be the new LNP word for anything positive they cannot belittle. Bill Shortens mother personifies the idea that the ‘privilege elite’ are not the only ppl who can achieve, when education is made available to ALL! Locked into ‘tall poppy syndrome’ cringe.

Just proves billshortenmp would even throw his mother under a bus if it gave him political advantage.

Disgusting and untrue. He may not have said on Q&A but had in the past. Lies lies lies

Murdoch trash!!!

Desperation from the Tele. Must be very concerned about that narrative cutting through.

Murdoch's Sewer Rats.

Moronic Sky puppets, Bills popularity may lose him the election, wtf is it with fwits,um we don't vote on personality we vote on policys, something Morrision hasn't got .

This is just the beginning of the Murdoch shit storm by Sat week it will be diabolical

He uses her amazing life and acheivements in his political speeches. What does he expect? You put it out there the media will look at it and respond if they find holes. If he didn't say anything about her there would be zero response.

Pretty vile from the dailytelegraph . There seems few depths the Murdoch rag will not sink to to try and stop the ALP from being elected.

As with most of Bill's statements we only get half the truth. He's got form.

You are also Murdoch arsewipes
