YOUR SAY: Have you noticed a food shortage yet in your local supermarket? Australians are being warned to 'only buy what is necessary' amid the impending food shortage crisis due to the Omicron COVID19 variant. 9News DETAILS:

"Over the last few months, the global and domestic disruption caused by the pandemic has presented us with a number of supply chain challenges. This includes a shortage of wooden pallets and transport workers, and international shipping delays," CEO Steven Cain said in a message to customers.

"More recently, an increase in COVID case numbers in the community has required more people to isolate, which has meant fewer people are available to work in Australia - including in the food industry."Panic-buying is not being blamed for the shortages on shelves.Customers are now limited to two packs per customer of chicken breasts and chicken thighs - or six pieces from the deli.Unlike during previous shopping shortages, fresh goods as well as long-lasting are being snapped up.

This is no good ! People stock up now

Australians & the rest of the world were warned by The Holy Spirit between 2014-2021 to prepare for what is coming upon the Earth. You are without excuse & those who have deliberately sought to cover these warnings from the eyes of the innocent will be brought to account shortly.

Stop trying to scare people. There’s no food shortage. There’s a problem with the Distribution Centre for woolies where people have Covid. That’s it. Will be cleared up soon. Every other store has food. Shop somewhere else for the short term.

Not any significant issues at Bondi Junction Aldi, Coles or Woolworths yesterday morning. Obviously the toilet paper morons had been stocking up, ditto some meats but overall no empty shelves.

NOT as yet!

The government is at fault, nobody else.

How good is living with covid.... but hey there’s no way we could have built proper quarantine and kept it out and lived normally like WA. Money was too important.. ironic that the economy is shutting down anyway.

Definitely yes. Worse than before

Everyone has so stop posting about it

Western Sydney, big chains almost empty.

Take everything but not my moccano coffee ☕

Yes. Most definitely

Is this where we eat the rich? I have an adventurous palate.

We are taking wickets with the virus Surely a crisis does not belie us I don't need to so rude Why do people need food? I have created a little chism With my can do capitalism Why rapid test? When I have made you all so blessed I am a liberal party promo People call me Scomo

Yes I wanted to buy some chicken meat for my cats yesterday but found nothing left after I shopped 3 supermarkets in different places! However still plenty of other meat.

Get home delivery, avoid crowds and receive fresh stocks

The only reason people are panic buying is because of the media sensationalising the flu to the point people are in fear of leaving their homes. They panic buy like a pepper for no real reason. And covid is not a real reason

Yes shortage of meats and sanitary products

The government must prove the 'variants' exist without computer modeling, isolate it under an EM (electronic microscope) and compare it to other variants and the common cold to warrant the legitimacy of the Emergency Powers Act in the Australian states and territories. AUSPOL

Poor Aussies it seems it never ending

georgeginis Go to Aldi. They always have plenty..just don’t panic buy Aldi

georgeginis No shortages where I am.

No prob. Just get frozen food and canned food. Adjust. Adapt. It’s temporary. Businesses want to make money. They don’t sell they don’t make money. They don’t deliver they don’t make money. Ppl love money.

Hello: Please take a moment to view a short video of a lovely farm that has been established for the good of mankind. It’s an amazing work that no nation has undertaken. please share the video with everyone you know. Thank you!

Yes, I definitely have noticed a short supply in condoms

The shortages aren’t simply due to Omicron, they’re due primarily to the incompetence of Dom_Perrottet and BradHazzard who knew what would happen if they eased restrictions yet they did it anyway. Negligence is Negligence nswicac . Do your job and investigate auspol

Yet peripoo doesn’t seem to think we have a problem!

Who said no one buying up toilet paper….. yesterday looks like last year all over again.

Shopped at Aldi this morning, good supply of meat and veg and fresh food, freezer cabinets show some lack of supplies, no tissues and toilet paper.

wavetop Not in WA

How do this end? Are we not trusting the vaccines? Can we not have some kind of focused protection for the vulnerable?

And what to eat? People need food to live. I buy only necessary products

Nope

It’s all be design, the media sprukes food shortage and then what food footage appears!

Coles in Port Melb was missing a lot of stock on shelves, in particular small goods (meats) and toilet paper

Only toilet paper. There must be lots of psychos that eat that stuff

There weren't any food shortages during lockdowns. Even the toilet paper shortages were fixed.

We can spend billions on submarines but can’t get food on the shelves

Don’t take the shelf please

I was trying not to get caught taking photos

Its a delivery shortage, There would be plenty of food but no one to process the orders, load the trucks or deliver the goods.

I’m sure you posting pictures of empty shelves will help the situation (if in fact there is one). Still, I expect nothing more from the disgrace that is the media. You are completely pointless. 🙄

Big players need pallets. Pallet shortage is part of the problem. Just buy what is NEEDED! Infantile behaviour is not becoming of ADULTS!

Brought to you by the LNP 'learn to live with it' initiative.

NO I DIDN'T!

C'mon Australia...... Use your fucking brains... Don't be parasitic. There is no need to play into the fearmongering narrative. Just take what you NEED and leave the rest for someone else and it will be alright...

Only toilet paper and paper towels. Hoarders don't have much imagination.

Kfc out of chicken

Thank god there’s chocolate

Let it rip eh? Perrotet and Morrison both need to be immediately sacked. They have engineered a collapse of the health sector and now the whole supply chain is breaking down as well. Our society is being broken and what will be left is anybody's guess.

Shop local and not at your big chain supermarkets and you won’t have a problem.

Local supermarkets full of everything.

definitely a food shortage. no rice of any kind no meat and limited canned food. trying my luck later tonight

Yes

I went to Aldi this morning They had everything. Nearly put a TV in the trolley

AlboForPM

How about TOILET PAPER 🧻 ? 😂

There are some empty shelves in my local Coles Supermarket in Capalaba Brisbane but still plenty of most essentials. Facial tissues and frozen veggies seem to have been pounced upon for some reason. Still came home with everything I wanted.

When will they investigate the National Cabinet and Pharmaceutical industry including the health governing body If they did im sure many would be running out of the country to escape jail

In Kmart. A lot of shelves are empty like this.

Shelves are full…stop this scaremongering nonsense

Only Bread, but was late in the day, in morning, stocked to the brim, same as everything else.

now mr morrison we know you have got all that food albanese wants you to give it away for free i'm with you scott

This is clearly scaremongering for ratings. The exact brand I want is not on the shelf. This is not a food shortage. 9NewsMelb, please do some primary investigative reporting and go to a country that has a food shortage. You are embarrassing your profession!

I could benefit from less food.....

The only shortage around at the moment is brains

SEQ: Local Coles and Aldi near work (about 40km away) both very very low on fresh produce and meat. Local store has no frozen vegetables either. Very low toilet paper. Finally found what I needed at Coles in a shopping centre which was much better stocked.

Yes... Roselands COLES

What a complete Balls up of epic proportions. Let it rip should b Let it R.I.P!!!

Definitely a shortage of staff in Aged Care homes. Elderly isolated & in lockdown & no family allowed in. How many St Basils and Newmarch disasters will unfold over the next month? But nothing from ScottMorrisonMP richardmcolbeck or GregHuntMP who are responsible for sector

Some shortages yes but nothing to be alarmed or panicked about...... Plenty of basic essentials.

Not only in supermarket, I went to KFC and they said no wings can be served. That’s horrible shortage

No cat food 😩🐈🐈

Im tired of this!

I shopped yesterday and didn’t notice any shortages on the shelves but as per usual staff shortages at the checkouts. Took almost as long to get served as it did to fill my trolley.

Yeah our woollies was almost empty of meat. Sick of these psychos who believe covid is such a bad thing. However not surprised as people panic and protest over the stupidest things these days like climate change and BLM. So I guess we expect these same morons to keep panicking.

You said 4 days ago to panic

I ordered BEER with my supermarket delivery... but they didn't send the BREAD or the beer, uhh 😧

Meat in Coles Toilet paper at Aldi and meat short .

Only toilet rolls and tissues were short today, can’t people just be sensible.

As if...

You should ask ScottMorrisonMP : Best PM to plan ahead of everything...

Someone tell Jenny to run down to Coles and get us all food

Regional NSW. Woolworths online. Just about every type of sausage unavailable. Beef, hamburgers, chicken, many also unavailable. Small choice of toilet paper. Some other food lines much of the same but frozen foods, milk, bread, veg, fruit ok. Woolies auto substituting products.

EVERYONE MST TEMEMBER THE COVID DISASTER THE MORRISON AND PERROTTET LNP GOV’S CRIMINALLY NEGLIGENT GENOCIDAL AGENA CAUSED WHEN THEY VOTE AT YHE MEXT FEDERAL AND NSW STATE ELECTION.

I’ve noticed more a shortage of Federal government leadership.

Went to woolies just now where I live in western suburbs Brisbane and it had plenty of food. The only item I noticed not on the shelves was chicken

Great! Even more reason to support your local butcher, greengrocer, hardwware shop! This socialist take over backfiring on the big companies! 😎👍

Yes, there are some shortages but it doesn’t help matters when you try to create panic shopping!🤬

But somehow they found the resources to deliver the hot cross buns!

I have noticed 9 News, you show Ad's in the news like it is news, plus PR tales as well ,Tracy as well. Shit repeated movies, hardly watch. 9.

The shortage is due to your Draconian policies. Your country is shameful.

Shortages in western Australia as well

Dear hysterical MSM there is no food shortage there is no crisis. There are delivery problems due to staff not at work because they need to isolate because of the flu. If your going to be hysterical just stop . Facts matter.

This panic lays squared AT FEET OF THOSE PUSHING IT....the state Govt and Media morons

Coles in Dee Why Grand at 10 am this morning no sausages, No chicken, very very little mince or other meat, no eggs, no toilet paper, no paper towels, etc.this is 2000 all over again. Ppl need food to eat, hard to feed a family when there is no food on shelves.

Coles and Woolies Kallangur and North Lakes are wrecked. Local butcher, baker, fruit and veg and seafood are all fine. Will support locals as much as possible from now on as at least we can rely on them.

Went shopping this morning, the shelves were bare - no meat , no essential items - even pet food was gone . Crazy

Jenny Morrison has been through them clearing out all the shelves for Scotty.

guys try Uber eats and other nearest groceries or local shops.

Yes

Definitely a shortage in South Australian supermarkets

I was at the supermarket this morning and it was full of what ever you wanted. Beef, pork, vegetables etc. You have to stop reporting this garbage or you will create panic.

The butcher, the baker, the fruit and veg shop fully stocked, venture beyond the supermarket chains and you will find ample supplies. Support local.

No shortage in my local Victoria region. Shop at farmgate, greengrocer, butcher, CSA and farmersmarket. To buy in-season, local, freshproduce that we need & love. However, not everyone has accessible or affordable food options. That's why I support TheCommGrocer. FairFood

Keep creating panic Channel 9…

No shortages, limits are in place and supermarkets appear to be enforcing them. Then again, I don't shop at Woolworths either🤷

Cheap rapid tests are readily available. 'Shortages of 20 per cent': Supermarkets battling impact of OmicronWoolworths CEO Brad Banducci said that shortages this time were driven by the number of staff “in isolation” and urged people to be “flexible” in their purchasing. Supermarket shortages are expected to continue throughout January. 9News Well they could bring back the unvaxed to their jobs to help out at present in the supply chain demand situation. But no they won't do that, we all have to suffer......
