Shoppers are emptying Bunnings stores of paint, home improvement and garden items as they head into a DIY virus lockdown.

The hardware giant, which will stay open during the lockdown on “government advice”, was flooded with buyers at the weekend.

Bunnings managing director Mike Schneider told news.com.au the store was hearing from customers that “having projects to do … around the home is providing a useful physical and mental distraction to the challenges of extended periods of time at home”. “We are working with our suppliers to increase supply and replenish our seedling stocks as soon as they become available,” Bunnings national plants buyer Alex Newman told news.com.au.

Yep got my supplies last week 👍

Well maybe all this buying up will mean businesses can afford to pay their workers through a shutdown...

Yeah like the dickhead yesterday who bought a chainsaw then asked about new blades for it 😂 I suggested a hand held pruning saw and advised him not to bruise himself on the packaging

They're raiding fitness stores too! These people want to stay in shape while everyone else gets fat!!

Keep your bloody hands off MY Bunnings. Stick to Toilet rolls and get the hell out of Bunnings 😡😡😡😡

They're also emptying camping stores of supplies in case they need to live rough for a few months
