A shocking report has shed light on Australia’s disastrous rental crisis, with one income bracket in danger as median rental prices soar across major cities and regional areas.

Australia recorded a 3.2 per cent growth in rent prices during the March quarter – the fastest pace of growth in 14 years.

The alarming CoreLogic figures form the basis of the Anglicare Rental Affordability Snapshot released today, which confirms it is near impossible for some socioeconomic groups to access housing. Everybody’s Home – a national campaign to end homelessness – is calling on the federal government to commit to building more social and affordable housing in the upcoming budget, due in mid May.

“A stable home is essential to holding down a job, raising a family and looking after your health. But our housing system is warped. This basic plank of a civilised society is out of reach for many thousands of Australians “There aren’t enough affordable homes in any region. Country areas are becoming just as bad as the cities, with fewer rentals and higher asking prices than a year ago.

Aussie cricket star’s ‘absurd’ request amid India’s virus tsunamiAs India’s coronavirus situation worsens, Chris Lynn’s suggestion that Cricket Australia could organise a chartered flight home for players competing in the Indian Premier League (IPL) has been branded “absurd”. Perhaps he could donate his IPL match fees to India's predicament or charter your own plane, pool your fees you can probably buy one. If you really want to bring hope to millions of people and play for something much more important … humanity, May I suggest you donate your bats (made of wood) for the funeral pyres as you have no use for them in your bubble and Cricket Australia can send over replacements. 😉

Meanwhile China has 1 Billion people they can barely feed + some tanks. He’s right.
