BREAKING: The NRL has reportedly announced its punishments for the Sharks and Tigers salary cap scandals.

The Daily Telegraph exclusively reported the Sharks have been hit with a $750,000 fineThe report states the NRL has suspended $500,000 of the club’s fine because chief executive Barry Russell self reported the reported discrepancies on the club’s books relating to cap breaches in 2015.

The $700,000 cap reduction has also been spread across the 2019 and 2020 seasons, meaning the club will be $350,000 under the cap for the next two seasons and will have to cut at least one player. The Wests Tigers have also had their $750,000 slashed by an NRL agreement to have half of the amount suspended.

The NRL has also backflipped on the fate of provisionally deregistered Wests Tigers chief executive Justin Pascoe, who will reportedly be allowed to return to the game mid-way through this season.Pascoe was accused by the NRL of failing to disclose a third party ambassadorial agreement with club great Robbie Farah before he agreed to be released to South Sydney a few years ago.

Meanwhile, reports claim rival clubs are still intending to swoop on any players the Sharks are forced to cut.

Here are the figures that should be sending shock waves through NRLTV ratings from the first game of season send a clear warning to ARLC chairman Peter Beattie that it’s time to stop talking and do something about the carnage. This is what happens when you give one of Australia's most successful politicians a real job to do. Hopeless, the lot of them. A lot of people were turned off by the indigenous team snubbing the Australian Anthem. Country comes first. I enjoyed watching the game, but I doubt it will ever be played again! The concept of the NRL all stars game has never appealed to me.Add the whole protest of anti Australia during the game just adds to my dislike of the game.
