The federal government has been urged to act out against the infiltration of activism in Australian schools amid attempts by a pro-Palestine teachers’ group to preach anti-Anzac Day ideals in classrooms.

Shadow education minister Sarah Henderson has condemned the"shocking activism" of a pro-Palestine teachers group attempting to influence students against celebrating Anzac Day .this week called on the community to put an end to glorifying the past and ongoing actions of the Australian military on the national day of remembrance held annually on April 25.

Picture: Dan Peled/Getty Images “This is a warped view of history run by activists… the classroom is for education, not indoctrination,” she told Sky News host Peta Credlin.

It emphasised the 1918 massacre of civilians in Sarafand al-Amar village by ANZAC troops and also referenced their involvement in the usurping of sovereignty in Ottoman Palestine in the name of the Commonwealth. “We're in connection with hundreds and hundreds of teachers, and not just in Victoria but across Australia, who say, please help us. We are sick of this, having to do this ideological work for arms companies and the government.”

“We've seen these activists try to drag students out of the classroom, participate in school strikes, fuelling anti-Semitism, and of course, at our universities, it's even worse. Frankly, it is time the Albanese government stood up to this.”
