Severe storms forecast for southeast Queensland

It comes just days after heavy rain and strong winds lashed Melbourne and Sydney, with the Victorian State Emergency Service receiving 372 calls for assistance on Sunday and Monday.

“As it does that there’s the potential for storm activity over the centre and the southeast,” he said. Mr Sharpe said the storms would drift further north on Wednesday, with the Central Highlands and coalfields district likely to see thunderstorms.
