'Serious injustice': Indigenous fishers call for moratorium on cultural catch prosecutions

Aboriginal people account for just four per cent of the population on the NSW South Coast but represent 80 per cent of jail terms for fisheries offences since 2009, according to data from the NSW government.State government figures show an over-representation of Aboriginal people prosecuted for fisheries offences

Now cultural fishers and lawyers are calling for an immediate moratorium on the prosecutions while the South Coast Native title claim is in process. " subject to harassment, arrest, seizure of their property at a rate different to the rest of the population because of their Aboriginality and the failure of the NSW government to uphold and protect native title rights."

It's sad, as original indigenous folk dont see a worth in things like privileged white folk in western society. So the injustice is overlooked by means of profiteering.. It's a give take relationship with the land. The white agenda uses what it needs & moves on,like a virus....

One law for all Australians. Cultural catches using modern day tools. I don’t think so.

BREAKING: Fishing is racist.

Mandatory jab for 1 million WA workers evokes both serious concern and broad supportA WA government decision to mandate the COVID-19 vaccination for 75 per cent of the state's workforce draws a mixed response from unions and employers. Unfortunately it seems necessary. I would like to see the same in Queensland. The covid-injections are a crime against humanity, according to scientific evidence: see Drs4CovidEthics DoctorsandScie1 Covid19Critical RWMaloneMD America's Frontline Doctors AAPSonline GVDBossche ChildrensHD etc. It's a tricky argument, unvaccinated by 'choice' believe it's only affecting them, just don't think about the unvaccinated that 'can't' due to medical conditions. It's not black and white when it comes down to the unvaccinated position.
