Seibold: Why I'm walking away from Broncos

Broncos have issued a statementHe addressed the media on Wednesday morning in Brisbane to discuss his departure as Broncos coach less than two seasons into a five-year deal.

"I'm not afraid to say, I cried in front of the players, it was an emotional morning saying goodbye to the players. "For many reasons, my time at the Broncos did not work out as we had all hoped. But that’s sport. We love sport because it’s full of uncertainty. And rugby league seems to throw up uncertainty better than any sport I know.

“I have very much appreciated the messages of support from many people over the last two weeks. I want to thank them, and I want to let them know that I’m doing OK. "Most of all, I’m appreciative of the opportunity to be a football coach, working with young men towards a common goal. I thank my players over these last two seasons for their effort, for their camaraderie and for their passion for playing football. Our game is a brutal game physically.”Broncos CEO Paul White said Seibold had always operated"with the utmost professionalism".

"As a result, Anthony approached chairman Karl Morris late last week to indicate he did not wish to continue as coach of the Brisbane Broncos.

He ain't walking away he got sacked I don't think I need to hear any more spin from this guy

We need a new hashtag for how this man been treated by the Broncos and it toxic fanstocixbroncos

I wouldn’t have minded him staying as I like to see the Broncos struggle after so many good years. However some people are a bit two faced, roasting him one minute and feeling sorry for him the next.

Why doesn't Paul White answer the question everyone wants to know, what are they hiding to make Seibold jump?

Sad and sorry end. As a Queenslander, not sorry to see him go. However he has a daughter that needs him. That would be great. His education, coaching experience, plus his life experience, would make him a great CEO of any Club or sport!!

Coaches can only do so much when the club is rotten to the core and the players have it easy.

Probably a good decision from both parties but they need to get rid of that Phil Murphy as a part owner, he is a major liability 🤔

When players have to carry around notepads you know there's a problem... it's Rugby League not chess, no wonder the players stopped listening to him.
